Miriam Nichterlein was raised in Canberra, Australia, a small city with a notable and unique creative scene. Her grandparents were Russian immigrants who arrived in Australia and left their mark on the country's fashion scene. Their story and relationship with Miriam made a lasting impact on herself and her career.
Growing up in the nineties, Miriam absorbed the likes of various international fashion and beauty editorials. Her admiration of such drove her to gain a degree in interior design. Wanting to try something new, she then completed a makeup certificate and fell in love with both the artistry and the intimate personal relationships that would blossom as a result.
With a suitcase and her leather portfolio, Miriam moved to LA in 2017 and quickly created a name for herself with her skillful glossy-skin technique and tasteful pops of color. She became a personal makeup artist for clients such as HAIM, Troye Sivan and Maya Rudolph, and has also worked with Julia Garner, Maude Apatow, Charlotte Lawrence, Jenna Coleman, Suki Waterhouse, Phoebe Tonkin, Stacy Martin and Betty Gilpin. She maintains a strong fashion client base and regularly works with the brands Chanel, Reformation, Skims, Maxfield, Chantecaille, Kérsaste, Goop, and James Perse. Her work has been featured in the publications Vogue, ELLE, and The Ingènue & Blanc.
Miriam has worked with photographers, Carine Backoff, Reto Schmid, Olivia Malone, Daria Kobayashi Ritch, Neil Krugg, Richie Lee Davis, Emman Montalvan Bjorn Ioss, Bryan Carr, Matthew Sprout, Vanessa Beecroft, Cameron McCool, Julian Ungano, Chloe Horseman and Angelo Sgambati.
