Akina Shimizu is a LA based makeup artist with a distinguished career spanning Japan, New York, and Los Angeles. Originally from Tokyo, she moved to the U.S. in 2017, spending five years immersed in the dynamic beauty scene of New York before relocating to Los Angeles, where she has lived for the past three years.
For the last couple of years, Akina has served as Patrick Ta's first assistant, working closely with Patrick Ta Beauty and leading brands such as Lumin Skin, iS Clinical, and Painted.co. Her expertise has earned her opportunities to work with high-profile celebrities, including Anna Sawai, Gigi Hadid, Camila Cabello, and Gabby Windey.
Before establishing herself in Los Angeles, Akina was an accomplished hairstylist in New York’s fashion industry, contributing to major fashion week shows, editorials, and catalog work. Her career originally began in Japan, where she spent a decade as a sought-after hair and makeup artist for actors, models, and television personalities.
