David von Cannon is a celebrity hairstylist whose work has been shaped by years in editorial, runway, and celebrity hair. Shortly out of hair school, David had the opportunity to assist legendary hairstylist Chris McMillan at his salon, an experience that first introduced him to the world of fashion and celebrity. While working with Chris, he met iconic hairdresser Didier Malige, an experience that ultimately inspired his move to New York to pursue fashion and editorial hairdressing full-time as Didier’s first assistant. Working alongside Didier from the beginning played a major role in shaping David’s eye, taste, and approach to beauty.
While working alongside Didier, David also met renowned hairstylist Luigi Murenu and became a core part of his international fashion show team. During that time, he contributed to runway presentations for Gucci, Givenchy, Valentino, and Viktor & Rolf, among many others, while also assisting on editorial shoots and advertising campaigns.
Over the course of his career, David has collaborated with photographers including Patrick Demarchelier, Bruce Weber, Peter Lindbergh, Sebastian Kim, Victor Demarchelier, Tyrone Lebon, Mark Seliger, and Ben Hassett, as well as filmmaker Yorgos Lanthimos. His celebrity clients include Gisele Bündchen, Penelope Cruz, Mia Goth, Salma Hayek, Lily James, Sarah Pidgeon, Kristine Froseth, Léa Seydoux and Scarlett Johansson.
